Bob,
Nope, never have and never will. I volunteer with lots of stuff for the show (judging, ACJ, etc), so there's no time to man a booth. Anyway, it's supposed to be fun, not work.

Georg

Hi All,
Another day and more progress! I was able to get the markings on the model, get the tools added and paint the tires. I tried something different for the tires. I painted them panzer gray to start and the brush-painted them with the "light mud" paint from AK interactive's wheel and track set . I went back with the "used tire" color and dry-brushed it on. Here's how it turned out:

The decals were a combination of DML, Tamiya, my own (license plates) and Karego, but I think they covered the required markings well. Here's how they look:

I'm going to try to get more done tomorrow, but being Easter and lots of family stuff to do, I'm not sure home much will get accomplished. Happy Easter!

Georg

Hi All,
Not too much to report tonight, other than I was able to get a brown filter on the model. Also, I managed to launch BOTH rear license plates into the netherworld, requiring me to replace one with the kit part and remove the superglue mark from the other. I had to repaint the spot, too. With luck it will not be too obvious. Tomorrow night will be the pin wash and I should have pictures then. Happy Easter.
Regards,
Georg

Hi All,
I was able to get the pin wash on the model this evening. It may need some more attention, but that is for another night. Here's how everything looked when I was done this evening:

Here are the tire close up:

The gun:

I didn't get too crazy with the saturation of the pin wash. Just a mix of dark brown and some sepia oil in turpenoid.

To make my life a little easier when I did the pigment work, I left some of the filter showing through in the corners.

The pin wash was still a little wet when I took this one!

I found a couple of spots where the paint flaked off the PE, so I used some rust-colored paint to cover it.

And the beat goes on, as they say. I'll have more to post on Wednesday night. Stay tuned!
Regards,
Georg

Hi All,
Boy, does time fly! My last post on this was 2 months ago! Needless to say, the model got finished and it has done very well for itself in competition (more on that later). With the pin washes done, I then proceeded to add the "dot filters" to the model. This is pretty standard fare, so I won't bore you with the details. From there, I light dust coat followed.

During it's trip back from the AMPS Nationals in Atlanta, it broke loose of it's base and careened around it's box, damaging one of the brush guards. During the repair, I was obliged to replace it and during the repainting, needed to "dust over" the repair. So, the model is a bit more dusty than it was at the Replicon or AMPS shows

But it did really well in the show circuit. I took a Silver medal at Replicon, a Bronze medal at AMPS and a Bronze medal at MFCA. With that, it's getting retired. I've already removed it from its base and it has taken its place my cabinet. More neat stuff coming soon, stay tuned!
Regards,
Georg

Really nice job Georg looks the part, the WW2 wheeled stuff has a look all its own.
Just noticed Bronco has released its version of the skd233. Typical you finish or are in the middle of a major conversion and a kit manufacture releases the kit!!!
