Does this mean that the long awaited "boonie hats" will be ready soon?

If you leave the pick parts off, the e-tools are perfectly suitable for WWII.

yes the boonie hat set is aviable since January. I have it twice and i can say it is awsome. Great Detail and they fit perfect on hornet heads. You get different style of boonies for all kind of "action" and the E-Tools are also great done but you will nead a steady hand to build it. What you see on the official photo is what you get. One boonie looks like the VC type jungle hat and is perfect fo the vietnamese counterpart ;-). I can make some photos of the boonies on hornet heads which i have build if you are interestet. All in all it is worth the money and you get "working" E-Tools. You connect the shovel with a pin like you see in the Photo on the Homepage and so it is possible to use it like the real one.

Yes, the boonie hats are quite nice and as Stefan said, they fit the Hornet heads well. There is a good variety of hats in various configurations so if you are making a diorama depicting Soldiers or Marines wearing boonie hats, you can have each one have a different version to make the scene look more realistic. It is nice to have a set of boonie hats on the market that allows the modeler to add some personality to their figures by being able to not have everyone wearing their boonie hats exactly the same way. I remember using the DML/Dragon Boonie Hats from the Special Forces set for several figures, but they all looked the same because they were. This was a very good accessory set to have if you model figures wearing boonie hats.

I have not tried working on the e-tools yet as I am currently in Afghanistan and my modeling capabilities are limited here.
