I've seen a lot of different representations for the felgrau color some are ligth gray, some darker grey, some are a kind of light green and also mixed light-dark grey, light green-grey...
Someone can help me to find the rightest color for the feldgrau uniforms
Thank you
If you've the references in humbrol or heller it's great

well, there is no right color.clothing was made by several firms during the war.and everytime a wool lot was dyed, there was variation in color. They could never match the color perfectly
In the reenactment community (in whitch i am a part of) it is considered to be "farb" or fake to have all your wool match perfectly.
just look closly at old photos and you will see a differance between the tunic and pants

Sourkraut,
Exactly what color should a german helmet be? I have heard/seen that it should be "apple green". So, if that is the case, field gray shouldn't be used when painting figures?

helmets were dunkelgrun(dark green),field gray should not be used as the uniforms were more of a green color
here is a link to one of the vendors we get our gear from, they have a lot of color photos of uniforms and helmets.but like i said earlier pay attention to the color variation

you can also visit our units web site and look at some of the pictures posted there

Hey Sourkraut. I actually have a M43 repro tunic from lost battalions. I guess trying to match up a color shall be a challenge.
I also have 3 german helmets. 2 M-40s and a m-42. My original question might be stupid, considering i do have some for reference, But 1 M-40 is a Luftwaffe with whitewash, so the interior color that is remaining is more blue.
My other M-40 is a SD SS, but most of the paint is kinda of worn. It is a funky type of green though.
My M42 is in much rougher shape, paint wise.
BTW, any idea what color M-34/42 ammo boxes should be?

OREGON17,
The dissparety of color in clothing and equipment is paramount......but in your search the "Testors Modellers Guide" lists German Uniform Feldgrau as model master #2014, Humbrol #27 hope this helps. dont forget that fading and shading, shadow ,changes the hue and intensity of the color.
