Branch Line Engine House is reminiscent of mid 19th to early 20th Century stone engine houses found on many small railroads throughout the U.S.
This particular HO Scale model represents a single-stall engine house that can be built with or without an attached office (it could also represent a machine shop or powerhouse) and includes an optional cupola.

The entrance looks more like a tunnel portal, and real engine houses always have doors. The vertical joins in the "stone" wall sections seem surprisingly toy-like for a "new" 2013 product. It mostly looks like bits recycled from other kits, which is standard RDA practice.
Rod Guthrie was a nice guy, but these kits are generally considerd poor quality, with frequent alignment and fit problems, particularly doors and windows - check the net. I saw one thread where the owner called them "crafsman kits", but that's only in the sense where you need to be a craftsman to get them to go together.
