Hi guys, thought id try and do a post about one of my recent cats. Spzabt 504 - 131. Used tiger1.info aswell as the new Haynes manual about this tiger rebuilt at bovington. Its a Tamiya early with the figure from their initial 'afrika' kit.
Mainly OOB with stock tracks and decals.
Had following additions/corrections - edges of armour plate textured by running across them with an etched razor saw blade and weldseams enhanced/added from archer resin decals. Mantlet notched on lower left corner & screw holes added to sleeve. Headlight leads added. Lifting lugs on exhaust armoured covers from the modelkasten track set.
Tamiya etched grills. Handles/steps on bow are scratched/spares. Added the upper splash guard on the front edge of turret roof. Added etched clamp handles to the moulded tool brackets and etched wingnuts to tow rope brackets, jack clamps etc. Tracks on bow are dragon magic with separate horns (chevrons sanded off). Painted in lifecolor 8000 & 7008. Mainly Weathered with ak interactives 'rain marks' wash and light dust pigment. A bit of sponge chipping/wear and also a touch of streaking grime and rust streaks (ak too) kept it subtle as the tank had very little service & damage (also wanted a quick & easy build) Anyway enough waffle and i'll let the pics do the rest of the talking...
Cheers, Tony

Hi jeff the purple stuff is bouncing or silly putty. Goes by alot of names. I use it to mask hard edge camo too.
Regards, Tony.
