Hello,

Well, its not been my week. I have been going through some models I have just checking to see if all the parts are present.

I have found one thats missing a part.

I have an Italeri No. 212 German Tank PzKpfw 38(t) 1/35th scale.

The part that is missing is the front drive sprocket (4B).

Its the outer drive sprocket that one with the post that goes through the inner sprocket.

I have attached a couple of pictures.

My questions is..... IS there anyway to get ahold of a new one. Even if I had to purchase an aftermarket set of wheels?

Maybe someone else replaced theirs with a better quality aftermarket set........and have no use for the original ones.. )

Thanks for any help or advice. )

RR

You can try whoever Italeri's importer is (I think Stevens), but if the kit is OOP, you might be out of luck.

Another option, more work, would be to make a cast of the opposite side part and use it.

Hope this helps.

Ian;

Depending on what you "need" to have, in terms of absolute accuracy, a possible good solution is to get the EXTRA set of drive-sprockets found in the Dragon Flakpanzer 38(t) kit...

Dragon Flakpanzer 38(t) Sd.Kfz.140 auf (sf) Ausf.L "Gepard"
DML 1:35 Scale Smart Kit No. 6469

These kits came with two sets of drivers (sadly, both very nice moldings, but mostly or completely incorrect, in detail, for this vehicle!) - and about anyone who has built this great kit could have a spare set hanging around...

IF you are building a later Panzer 38(t) Ausf E/F or Ausf G, the Dragon sprockets could be your ticket. You may have to do a little surgery to mount them onto the Italeri drive mounts, but that should be no real problem.

Before you send out a "call" for a set, please look at the nice kit comparison done by Terry Ashley and look at the pics of the parts to see whether these will fit your needs. Go to

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/flakpanzer38t/flakpanzer38t_d01.htm

There may also be extra sprockets in some other Dragon 38(t) - based kits...

I do not know what track set you have for your kit, so I suspect these Dragon sprockets could look nice but need some fine-scale detail-work on sprocket teeth, etc. to fit the track?

Cheers!

Quick update on Dragon 38(t) "extra" sprockets...

I think you can find an extra set of sprockets with 8-hole rims (suitable for an E/F or G) in...

CyberHobby (Dragon) Aufklarungspanzer 38(t) mit 7.5cm KwK kit 6310

Dragon Pz.Kpfw 38(t) Ausf G
Dragon Pz.Kpfw 38(t) Ausf E/F
Dragon Pz.Kpfw 38(t) Ausf S

The aforementioned Flakpanzer 38(t) kit, and probably any of the 3 or 4 Dragon Marder III and Grille Ausf M kits.

Cheers!

Ian,

I have a set that may work?

1/35 Maquette 35005 Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) Tracks and Wheels Set. That set has drive sprockets in it.

@ IrishGreek - I think that might be way above my current skill set, but always looking to learn. Thanks for the advice.

@ PanzerBob01 - Once again, thanks very much for the information and advice. I didnt know that some models came with different parts. Looks like they might work just fine.

@ TacFireGuru - Thanks, I will send you a PM and we can work out how I can purchase them from you. They might just be what I need. Thanks.
