Hi All,
I'm toying with the idea of converting a DML 250/1 neu half track (#6427)into the mortar carrier version. Can anyone tell me of a source for the appropriate ammo boxes because I imagine these vehicles had quite a few stored in/on them
TIA
Tom

Tom;
See the Dragon "Fallschirmjager 8cm mortar team" kit 6215 - this kit supplies a mortar and several standard ammo-cans and some rounds, along with some bust lads serving the tube.
These ammo cans would probably be the type also seen in that 250/x mortar-carrier, as it likely carried a dismountable standard 8cm grenatwerfer that could be pulled and used on the ground.
It would probably be relatively easy to make resin copies of the cans, given as you may want many, versus the 4 or so available in that figures kit.

Thanks Bob,
I was kinda leaning towards that kit or the Tammy offering and duplicating boxes somehow. Perhaps I could drape a tarp over some box shapes with the kit boxes visible.
I'll think of something

Here's a nice photo of the crew area of the 250/7.
You can see three ammo cases/cans in the floor by the tube and more behind the crew seat.
The Dragon kit 6215 has two of the cases and the tube. That might be a good start. Your tarp idea might work for the one behind the seats.

The boxes on the floor under the mortar are much smaller than the standard sized ones at the back of the vehicle. Are these MG 34 (or 42) ammo boxes? Note: there at least 2 more Mortar ammo boxes stowed flat on the floor by the back door.
