Anybody build Kinetic's M109A2 ? Squadron has it for their mystery special of the day for $28. While I am trying to whittle down the stash I could see this one in the collection.
Thanks in advance !

Hi,I haven't the kinetic kit but from what I've read here and there it seems to be far away from the AFV club offer.
Afv club M109A2 seems to be better detailed/accurate.
As far I know Voyager will release a set for both the kits.
Please note, mine are only considerations based from reviews and opinions.
Just my two cents.

I got that kit in my collection. It seems to be a basic kit to me. I got the Riich tracks to go with it. I am sure it will build up into a nice kit.

It is a pretty nice kit. It is light years ahead of the Italeri old M109 series kits.
The nicest part is the suspension. The road wheels are really nice and it has correct shocks. The rear idler wheel wheel has the correct lightening holes as well.
All tools and tool tie-downs are separate pieces. All hatches open and have internal details as well.
It is not as well or crisply detailed as the AFV Club kit, but a close second.
It does include a separate front hull plate with the lugs for the flotation sytem still on it though. This allows you to build an M109A3, which was a rebuilt M109A1, wheras an M109A2 was a new build vehicle.

It's not a bad price. If you work with certain eBay sellers you can get similar deals on the AFV Club version as log as you buy in bulk. (at least three at a time.) Of course if you don't want to build three you just do a deal with friends. This sort of thing is actually encouraged on AR15.com.
