Hi all,
just bought a used model of Revell's Sherman Calliope but no instructions, can anyone help me out?
Many thanks,
Kenny.

I think I have that in 1/72 scale. I will check tonight, send me a message so I will know where to send it to. FAX or attachment?

I built this some years ago, and did some detailing on the wiring. I'm pretty sure I have a wiring diagram somewhere if you need it.

Hi John, I'd certainly love to see a wiring diagram! (Most photos are just too fuzzy...)

John,
I have been planning on building this model soon. If you could shoot me a copy of the wiring diagram, if you still have it, that would be awesome. Since the old Monogram Screamin Mimi was my first 'big' tank model as a kid, I have always wanted to do a 'good' model of that vehicle.
Thanks in advance.
Stephen

Ok, here goes. I had forgotten the problems connected to the wiring. The wiring diagram shows a different position for the wires than the series of pictures I used for reference. I have seen models with wiring as in the diagram, but only photos of the other configuration. The wiring goes through the opening for loaders periscope. Note that the antenna is moved to the left side of the turret ahead of the launcher support.
Hope this helps.
John
ps. had no problems opening the revell pdf.

John,
You're a star! Looks like I might have to dig out that half-built kit now...

Glad to help. More pics of my attempt at wiring.
Antenna mount:
Wiring for the tubes:
I have some more material somewhere showing how the wires were collected together and routed through the periscope aperture. I will try and find them.

Even though this TM is not specifically dedicated to the T34 rocket launcher fitted to the Calliope variant, it may be helpful with detailling :

If you can get a hold of Military Modelling Vol. 27 no. 15 from 1997, it has a nice 8 page article on detailing Italeri's Calliope. It's the same mould as the Revell model, I believe.
