When painting camo do you paint from light to dark or dark to light?

Also what is your sequence of painting from raw plastic to finished kit?

Mark; I am no expert but primer first then lightest first and darkest last. Easier to add darker over lighter than the other way round.

Hi Mark,

I agree with Damon on this and is basicly what i do. However, There are many ways to go about painting and camo and it really comes down to what YOU are comfortable with.

My steps from plastic to finish:
Always make sure the plastic is very clean before primer.
Primer
preshade
Base color
First camo color
second camo color
Paint detail like tools Jacks and the like
Gloss/future coat
Deacals
Seal Decals W/Gloss/future
Pin washes/washes
Flat/Matt coat
Oil fading
Initial chipping
Seal W/Flat/Matt coat
Filters (if you want)
Streaking (with oils or AK products)
More Chipping (if needed/Wanted)
local/detail washes
Oil/fuel stains
Dust, dirt, mud (if wanted)
Weather wood tool handels W/oils/washes
Graphite metal tools

That is a general sense of how i go about it...may of even forgot a thing er two. Most of the weathering steps are interchangeable or you can just skip one if ya like. No set way of doing this modeling thing of ours Mark. Many ways to get to the results we want. Just do what ya like, have fun with it, and what makes ya proud of the model ya just built. And you'll learn alot while ya go about it.

Hope that helps even a little bit Mark.

Cheers,
Gary
