Cool, always was a fan of the schwim

Does this world really needs another Schwimmwagen? Isn't the Tamiya one not enough? Aren't there tons of interesting passenger cars of the 30s and 40s left?

The type 128 was built on the Kubal chassis ( 7.9 ft wheel base ).Few built ( maybe 100 ? ) This was found to develope cracks in the body while going cross country .This would cause the car to leak , not good in a vehicle designed to go in the water The type 166 ( Tamiya et al ) is built on a redsigned body ( 6.6 ft wb ) .
Over 12000 built .

I'm with Ingo, does the model world NEED another one of these when the Tamiya offering is already quite a nice model? The choice of tires is a very nice touch but really???

Are there not many other subjects to better focus on?

Again my pet cause is to finally get someone to produce, in plastic, the closed cab version of the standard Deuce and a Half. Why Tamiya does not offer a closed cab version is beyond me!

Hey, throw in a couple MG mounts and some decals for that famous "Unknown Unit, Eastern/Western Front 1942/43/44/45" and you got a deal maker. It already has a complete set of pioneer tools.

Couldn't agree more. Apart rom the wheels (which can be replaced) the Tamiya one is a solid little model. AFV Club do this far to often in my opinion - there's NO need, IMO, for another 25 Pounder or another 17 or many other subjects that they've announced...
