Folks im after a little help !! I have just purchased the Trumpeter M1078 with armoured cab and have been searching out some in service pics which i have managed to do . The one thing i have not been able to do is find any interior shots of the armoured cabs to find out the correct colours to paint it with . Do any of you have or know of any links for interior pics ?
Also i belive the vehicle was used in Iraq ? but is it in use in Afghanistan ?
Any help would be great so thanks in advance.
Neil

Maybe this would help with your first question ?

And here's an answer to your second question about Afghanistan. This one is fitted with add-on armor plates. :

another (unlucky) one in Afghanistan. You can notice the color of the inner side of the door differs from the one in the first link...

I hope I don't get into trouble with the forum folks for a back to back post [Note to self re-read the forum rules!]
Any way Frenchy this is the lay out of the type of truck I want to build as well. These photos were shot from a far at an army reserve base.

What about this TM drawing ?
or this one :
both from TM-9-2320-366-24P-1
A few M1083 walkaround pics here
Too bad Webshots.com has closed down, there were many interesting photo albums there, like those uploaded by Joe Wallace about modern US Army trucks...like the M1083.

There is no need to try and scratch-build the M1083 5-ton (dual rear axle) FMTV version. Trumpeter released a kit of it a few months ago.
Also, the armored cab cam be added to the M1083 as well.

Yes, it is available, I already have on on the shelf.
It will be a real pain in the arse to stretch the bed and frame, rebuild the rear suspension, axle, tires , etc., etc., etc....
Not worth the effort in my book.
To each their own.

Yes yes I found this link with good photos of the kit in question., but I'm looking for the kit any way.
http://www.amps-armor.org/ampssite/reviews/showReview.aspx?ID=2420&Type=FB
Edit: I just found the kit for an online store that i shop from for 62.49. That's as much as the first kit was back when it came out. It's to bad they didn't add the armored cab.

Nevermind the fact that Trumpeter will be releasing the M1083 with the armored cab eventually, probably over the summer sometime.

Got mine today I noticed that Trumpeter messed up a marking on The Pug. It should be black, red and white not just black http://www.flickr.com/photos/defensorfortis/1591979485/in/photostream/
Seems like a great kit, though

If your photo wasn't copy blocked folks could have made a decal to fix there kits.
Well "Scott Millican" some one has made the cab, see Pascal's FMTV trucks with armlor cab thred. In his post the first photo is of the sprue tree from some un-named kit.
