Hey Tuazon, best I can figure for 1/72 scale, is to use a wood match stick. Sand down to a point (top) and rough up the wood to leave a rough surface. Try finding a pulmosa fern to use for branch's. Soak the in glycerin to keep them pliable. pant the fern what color you need and the bark surface a gray/brown. Hope this helps some.

Hi Tuazon,
In 1/72 scale a 60' pine tree will be approximately 11.25"-12" and you want a trunk diameter of 1/4" (scale 2' diameter, 5/16" is closer but may look out of scale) Use a dowel of this diameter and taper it to a long, slender point. To model trees as those in the picture I would use caspia instead of plumosa for foliage.
There are alot of pics on my website to give you ideas
(all trees are made with plumosa in the pics)

hope this helps
