Holy cow !
Not only your truck is a true work of art : the pictures with reference indication are a wonderful asset for all who have plans to build a bigfoot.

Work like this can only inspire other modelers to try their hand at scratchbuilding.
Lovely paint job, too. I can't help but notice how you scrupulously followed the instructions of TB43-0209 (page 152 and further). Ata boy !
No, without kidding : this is the best looking model M923 I have EVER seen.

This is an absolutely superb series of shots detailing the work you have done. It really does make a change to see a wide range of pics that encapsulates the whole range of changes and enhancements made to a kit.

Please let us all know when the article is done as I will be looking forward reading it! - Will the article also contain a reference list of material you have used here ie books/pics etc?

That's not quite true

There are two differences: first is the brown color. I didn't use the usual red-brown NATO color as seen on most US Army trucks and other vehicles. I used lighter, more earth/sand-like color. I did it on purpose, as I saw that some USMC vehicles (and trucks participating in operation Provide Comfort in 1991 in particular) wore color like this. The other difference is the camouflage pattern in one spot - there is an area of brown color missing on one part! Try to find it! :-)
Again: I missed it on purpose as USMC truck I was using as a "model for my model" didn't have this part painted brown, but black instead.

Sure, it will contain a list. Armorama galleries (old ones, including Rob's Motor Pool - some of photos there Sabot took on my request - Thanks once again, Rob!) were a great resource. I also used many TMs - they are not easy to work with, but provide tons of information. I used a few books and many sites on the web (I managed to download about 400 photos of M939 family trucks to my PC!).

No, not really... It took about half a year from the moment I started, but can't translate it to hours, as I worked on it very irregularly - sometimes 10 hours a week and sometimes none at all.

OMG,
THIS IS ONE TO ADD to the jaw dropping list. I have crawled all over this vehicle 1/1 and this has got to be the best model I have seen that represents its Father. AN EXCELLENT job well done. I cant wait for the posted article. DEFFINATELY a AMPS GOLD winner !!!!

Okay for the first time ever looking at a model my jaw dropped, I mean really hit the floor. The detail in the interior is amazing, just looking at the seat belts is astonishing!

That is TRULY impressive, especially for an Italeri kit!

Great job! It's nice to see such devotion to something that doesn't get the spotlight compared to AFVs.

My next project is AFV - M2A2 Bradley. Or should I say M3A2, as I modified my model to cavalry version (using Verlinden book as a reference). I used ugly Lee copy of Tamiya kit and it is another model that was almost finished several years ago, then abandoned. Now I will add some more detail (like the part I asked about in a separate topic yesterday) and repaint it. I hope to finish this one quickly... Expect some photos of it on the Rivet Review Board soon!

Now, to all who posted their comments:

You all made me blush, but at the same time you really made me want to build more models!
