I have just recieved the Verlinden fotoetch zimmerit (there is at pic of it in my gallery )
for the Tamiya Jagdpanther ... but iīm not sure i really like it.
Itīs the waffelpattern allrigth, but its more a negative - meaning that what should have
been protruding areas is depressed and the other way around.[
Anybody that has any experience with the look of it painted and all ???
Donīt wanna spoil a expensive Tamiya kit with a sloppy aftermarket product.

I can't tell for sure from the picture, but I think what you have is the tile pattern zim. If it is the tile pattern, the little squares should be raised and the lines depressed.

I have used the PE Zimmerit, although not Verlindens, and find it no where near as good as Cavalier's. I think that PE for Zimmerit is the wrong material to use. The PE Zim looks way too rigid and is not easy to "damage".
As for the "look" of yours, i have to agree with you, it does not have the correct look . Can you afford to change it for the Cavalier make?

I agree that the Cavalier is the way to go. Before you make another purchase, and if you can't exchange it, try painting it before you put it on model. Sometimes stuff looks better after it gets painted

I think Verlinden tried to reproduce the zimmerit pattern as seen on the Jagdpanther at the Saumur..which by the way was applied at the museum and I have never seen this for real in pictures ..Secondly if you are doing Tamiya's JP you don't need zimmerit as it was stopped before this model was built ..Only early JP's had zimmerit ...Sorry Verlinden but you goofed...
