Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the world of real tanks Good question, my understanding is that the Centurion Mk.III came into service at the time when the British were changing vehicle colours from the wartime scheme to the post-war colours. That said your choices are either S.C.C. No.15 Olive Drab or S.C.C. No.224 Deep Bronze Green.
S.C.C. No.15
Tamiya mix: 5pts XF61 + 2pts XF62 + 2pts XF3. This is fraction darker than the standard so a wee touch more XF3 won't hurt. Then allow for scale effect.
Vallejo mix equal parts of 70888 Olive Grey [92] + 70924 Russian Uniform WWII [094].
S.C.C. No.224 Deep Bronze Green
Tamiya mix 8pts XF5 + 5pts XF62. You need a satin varnish over this for the depth of colour.
Tamiya mixes are courtesy of Mike Stamer and the Vallejo mix Alan Brown, both from Missing-Lynx.
I have not come across a Vallejo mix for Deep Bronze Green, but I have found that both Model Colour 897 Bronze Green and Model Air 71.021 Camouflage Green are both suitable.
Hope this is of some help.
Cheers
David

Jeff
If you are planning to make a specific vehicle, then as a rough rule of thumb, from the Korean war on Deep Bronze Green, before that S.C.C. No.15. All reports point to the Centurions used in Korea as being Deep Bronze Green. But looking at photos of the first Centurion to arrive in New Zealand in 1950 the colour to light to DBG and I would take it to be SCC 15.
cheers

Dave,I didn't have a specific tank in mind.I think what I will do is mix both, see which one I like, and that will be the time frame I use Kinda backwards, but it works for Me.Jeff T.
