Just found these stencils by RB Productions.
Wood 1 (RB-T028)

Wood 2 (RB-T029)

They are 1:32 scale, but that should be close enough to 1:35. I think these may prove to be the easiest way to recreate wooden texture/pattern.

nice stuff, I guess they would be 1/32 for aircraft, like the ww1 wooden jobbies, pfalz's and fokkers with ply fuselages.
shame I don't own an airbrush

I could see these being useful for furniture, the second one.. anyway and the first one looks like, birch is it? the silvery trees.
the second one would probably be bes used say for a table, base coat. a little bit of colour streaking,( browns, mahogany e,t,c) finished off with a light spray of the wood #2 stencil in a darker wood tone, ( darker, redder, e.t.c) then glossed.

interesting!

Matt, nice going. They look like the answer for large areas like truck beds. But for tools with wooden handles, the old oil paint method still seems like the easiest way to go.

BTW, have you bought them yet?

I just found these, this morning. I've hit my spending limit for the month(well spent for every item on my wish list).
I couldn't see using these for smaller surfaces. But, I believe it would be more realistic than, say Archer's wood grain decals. As those are black, I'm not sure what type of wood they are meant to represent.

Archer's are a resin 'decal' to provide texture. You paint over them. Same as their casting marks, weld beads, etc.

I think I will do a review on these, next month.
