My first attempt at building a King Tiger 2 "Konigstiger" Ausfuhrung B Sd.Kfz.182 Porsche Turm. The model is from Tamiya. I added Tamiya PE grill set and a Jodio Barrel. I painted it in the winter wash of 1945 http://community.webshots.com/photo/100577057/100577356sxIWaX http://community.webshots.com/photo/100577057/100577251fHPylf http://community.webshots.com/photo/100577057/100577187ZonFft

Hi pal!
Nice looking model, in my opinion, just add more weathering effect.
Cheers

Animal, if this your your first, I give up. I have been at this a while and have been trying to catch up to your skill on the trucks and you almost blow by me with your first German tank. Great job!!

Animal Dude,
This is great stuff. I especially like the weathering and whitewash, for your first german tank, this is breath taking. I wish one day my first truck is gonna be half good as your first german tank.
one point, really like nit picking:
The tracks of later war german heavy had high magnesium (sp) content, hence has a orangish color
This is a real nice model, and one more thing, how 'd ya do the zimmer on the Ferdinand King Tiger, it looked nice too.
Now, ya need to do a Tiger I.

Thanks again. I need to do more research on WW 2 German AFV's. There is so much that I don't know about them. I have to admit that they are fun to build. It is the paint schemes that give me fits.

Sir Animal... very nice :-)
I like the tracked trend.... hehe I used to be intimidated by German armor, then I started reading ALOT....lol Trucks scare me.... i wouldn't have a clue.... hehe
If you need any info on German stuff in the future - don't hesitate to ask, this site is a goldmine of information and helpfull people. I'd be glad to help out in any way I could. German AFV's are kinda my area of interest now... hehe I know that when I get around to a vehicle with wheels, you'll be one of the first people i hit up for info
Later-
Jeff
PS - Very nice zimm job on the Tiger - I must admit that you nailed it!

Couple particularly good things:
Excellent Zimmerit work
I also relly llike that your whitewash lets the original camo show through.
One suggestion:
I'd add a little of the white to the brackets for the tow cable and cleaning rods.
