Hi
This is my rendering of Tank Mania's no35-004 2S3/SO-152 Akatsiya.
The 2S3 became the standard soviet 152mm SPH in the early 70's.
The kit went together without any major problems. My only problem were that the turret ring had warped and didn't lay flush against the hull ring, but some sanding resolved that issue. The tracks are the kits weak point, but as Trumpeter has anounced a 2S3-release we may hade some after market tracks in the pipe perhaps?
The moulding of Pawels models keeps to amaze me. The detailing is really striking.
I replaced the towing wires, and added an antenna, wire handles an an AM-lense on the turret spotlight.
The model were painted with Gunze acrylics and were weathered with acrylics and oil paints.
Some in the works photos:
Regards
/Tomas

Very nice build Tomas. Unfortunately your pictures are too dark.
The Akatsyia is the 2S3, the 2S1 is the Gvozdika 122mm SPH.
