Has anyone seen this yet? It's advertised in MMiR and listed as having a "new glacis with improved welds" or somesuch. The problem with the Tamiya M5 is _rear_ hull. . . Does it fix that?

Personally I don't see much point in this, with the AFV Club M5 available, surely building an M5 using this plus the Tamiya kit is going to be very expensive and a lot of unnecessary work?..... Jim

Yes, it would be better to have a complete plastic kit but there isn't one available _now_, is there? Is the AFV Club M5 series even a certainty?

The link you posted is for the M3A3 kit, not an M5.

So... back to the original question. . .

Yeah I know it is, so it looks like the Tank Workshop hull with the AFV club kit would probably produce a show-stopper, trouble is that if TW have designed it for the Tamiya kit, then there could be fit problems..How about the Tamiya kit, the TW hull and the the AFV Club running gear? I wonder if that would work better, the Tamiya kit has running gear problems as well....Keep me posted on this...You got a link for the TW site? Jim

The only M5 around is the Tamiya kit.
The best option would be #1 The Tamiya M5, the TW hull, and the AFV M3/M5 running gear and track set.
OR #2 The Academy M3A3 kit, the TW M5 hull, and the wheels and tracks from AFV
That way you could finish all the little things yourself as far as the details.
This is a great idea if you can get all these things together.

I saw this kit in Feb. when R&J was a vendor at our model contest. I am surprise that it was just announced now. Both Rich from R&J and I looked the hull over but could not determine if the rear hull had been improved or if the only work was on the front welds. I completely forgot about it and never contacted TTW to find out.
