Here is an in box review from Russ Amott which shows what DML did with another excellent Japanese tank release in 1/35 scale to their line up with the Type 95 Ha-Go.

Mario, thanks for getting this up. I'll do a build of this kit shortly. According to Akira Takizawa, the specifics to this being an early production are the short track guards on the front, with only two mud flaps as opposed to three on the later type, also the later type had a larger tow hook mount on the front, with an L shape that wrapped around to the top of the hull, and the commander's cupola had a reinforcing ring around the top. That would certainly indicate a later type being released before too long.

Russ,
Really good review of what looks like an excellent kit. How flexible are the tracks, have you tried them?
There is an excellent primer on Japanese armor colors by Nick Millman, as reviewed here:
Japanese Armour Colours, A Primer, 1937-1945. He is gaining a reputation for expert color research. (His primer on the colors of the early A6M2
Reisen Zero fighter will be on Aeroscale soon.)

Thanks, Fred. The tracks are quite flexible, and appear long enough to get at least a little sag out of them. Steve Zaloga did a build over at Missing Lynx and said he had to shorten his tracks as they were very loose.
Thanks for the link to the armor colors. That is very useful.
