Yesterday I received Dec/Jan issue of TMMI and noticed a MIG Production advertisment there with information about planned release of M998 conversion set for Tamiya Humvee. Today I checked MIG web page (http://www.migproductions.com/migseries.htm) and the new set is already available! The price is 19€ and of course I immediately ordered it
It looks very nice:
I planned to convert one of my Tamiya Humvees using parts from Italeri M998 kit, but this solution should be much easier. Some serious plastic surgery would be needed on Italeri parts to make them fit to Tamiya kit.

This is what I call VERY good news ! I have planned to do the same, having 2 Italeri Command Humvees kits taking dust on a shelf . But as the overall dimensions of the Tamiya kit are slightly different I have given up the idea...
Thanks for the Heads-up Vodnik !

Yes Jim, it most likely is M998, although it could also be M1035 ambulance. I have this photo in my collection already. This should be extremely easy to get this kind of weathering effect on the model

I just received a mail from Mig Jimenez of MIG Productions about this conversion set. Looks like I will be among the first to receive it
Mig let me know that there are also parts included in the set to build this variant:

I received some more information from Mig Jimenez and he confirmed that the version on the photo I posted above is the one that can also be built from the conversion set, but there is one difference. The set parts were based on a vehicle spotted in Iraq and it didn't have the curtain installed between the rear seats and cargo area. There will be a support frame ("C" pillar) included, but no canvas curtain on it. I'm sure it will be very easy to add this curtain if anyone needs it.

It may not be that dificult to modify the Rear curtain from the COnversion photo you show in the first post. Scratch buildin one wouldn't be too bad either
