Probably a question asked before on this site, but I couldn't find the aswer...
Does anyone have the green (woodland?!) camo paterns of an M1A1/2? I'm thinking about doing one of my M1's in green cause I saw them during OIF. There are real nice ref pics out there, but I just can't figure out how to do the painting/ patern...
T(h)anks in advance,

I'm not sure what you mean by "woodland". "Woodland camo" is the camouflage on US Army uniforms (also older USMC uniforms). Camouflage on M1A1 or A2 is usually referred to as NATO 3-tone camo.
You can download the complete US military Technical Manual TB 43-0209 with current camouflage patterns for most US Army vehicles (including Abrams) here:

Wow. No one is going to have a hard time finding reference material on US army markings in the future. Too bad there isn't a similar document for WW2 armor!

That's for sure!
It still amazes me how fast and good you get your answers here...GREAT!
But how do I know the right colors? They do give the paintnumbers but is there a faster way to find out? Humbrol or Tamiya or something...?

I use new Tamiya acrylic paints and they are very good:
XF-67 NATO Green
XF-68 NATO Brown
XF-69 NATO Black

USE the Army TM to find your vehicle pattern in question. Then go to the IPMS Color Referance book. Look up the FS595 # and then you have all the choices listed for available paints. It also helps out a lot if you have the FS595 color fan paint chips.

First you have to have Acrobat Reader to view it, but you probably knew that. This is a large file from a slow server. Give it about 20-30 minutes to load. Go have a cuppa and wait. I think it will load for you then.

Well, I can not even get that far. Netscape says that the certificate of authenticity (or something like that) is unknown and will not let me go on even when I click on continue. Somtimes computers are just such a joy!

Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
It only took me about thirty seconds to download early in the morning. You might have better luck in the off hours.

I also get a message about unknown certificate issuer on MS Internet Explorer I use, but once I accept it, it donwloads just fine and opens in Acrobat Reader.

Try explorer ?
The size of this PDF file can also be a problem. This is a HUGE file. If you have a fast connection and you take this at a quiet moment (outside US office hours) it should work well, though.
