Several years ago, I believe JJ Fedorowicz did a book on the 80cm Dora railroad gun. I've been trying to find a copy all this time. Does anyone know who might be currently selling this book, or if in fact it was ever produced at all? (I cannot be 100% sure I actually saw it, or just think I did.)

Thanks a bunch,

I don't know about the JJ Fedorowicz book, but the best
book on the Dora, in my opinion is:

Deutsche Eisenbahn Geschutze: Rohr-Artillerie auf Schienen
by Gerhard Taube
Motorbuch Verlag, 2001

I ordered mine from the publisher and it's in German. Maybe
Fedorowicz published a translation of this book?

I'm contemplating buying the 1:72 Hobby Boss kit next month, and my references are sparse, to say the least.

There is a forum on the Military Modeling site with an
on-going thread of a build of the 1/35 Soar Art Dora.
Roger Pirtle is building an enormous diorama - literally
a lifetime project. He has even scratch built the double
diesel locomotives that pushed the Dora when it was ready to
be moved into firing position. He also scratch built the
special ammo cars for it. He has done a lot of research
and there is some good info and links embedded in the long
discussion in the thread - this may be of help to you in
your build. Here's the link:

http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=48149&p=1

There are some other books that have a few pictures of the
Dora, but none that have the wealth of images in the book
I mentioned previously.

Cool link, I'll check it out. As to the book, no way I'm paying anything even close to that amount.

Here's some on Amazon.de that aren't quite so much. The least expensive is about $85, including shipping:

I'm still convinced Fedorowicz did one. It seems that I recall Lewis Pruneau said he used that book (amongst other references), when he scratch built the Dora that was featured in Fine Scale Modeler many years ago.

Utterly awesome! I have received many great scans from the Dora book. Thank you very much Hans, I appreciate it so much.
