Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to build the SKIF BTR-152E with the dual 14.5mm guns and wanted to know what to look out for. I've read the rear suspension can be a pain, any tips would be great. I have the Eduard pe set for the kit too so I imagine that will help a bunch. Thanks for any help

Hi;
First id replace the kits Gun Barrels, with RBs 14.5mm items.
The Gun tub was a little too thick in my kit, i havent seen the etch set, so i cant comment on them. Overall the kit is slighty too thick plastic wise, so on my kit i thined a lot of the kits parts. Also i Super Detailed the Cab on my kit with Extra Gear, the only thing that i would also look for is a set of A.M Tires.

GOOD LUCK; MIKE.

Thanks for the info Mike, I would like to upgrade the guns, but we'll see what happens. Heck maybe if this looks good enough when it's done it might pop up on the forums.

Seth,
Even if you don't think it's good, put up some photos! We love photos. Some of us can learn from your techniques, even as a cautionary tale. No, I'm sure based on what you've said here, that you know a thing or two about building armor! I bet it will be quite good!
Thanks for posting.

Would anyone happen to have any pictures of these out in the field or on exercise somewhere? I have some pics but they aren't really that helpful, I've looked around on the Internet with few results too. Thanks for any help.

Here's a BTR-152V1 variant during Prague Spring in 1968. I guess it's the one chosen by Skif :

Here's an earlier BTR-152A in Hungary in 1956. You can notice the different wheels :

There are two extensive walkaround of the BTR-152 APC variant on svsm.org that may help with detailing the base vehicle :
