Hi all,
I am starting a new project-it is the ASU-57 from AER-Moldova kit. I have a few questions. The instructions show decals for a version that served in Czeckoslovakia in 1968 and also an Egyptian version. Does anyone have any references they could point me to? Also, what would a Soviet crewmember have looked like serving on one of these? Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Richard;
Sorry too say, theres not a lot of info on this Vehicle Ive got the same kit, and i started & almost finished it.
It was a very frustating model. Soviet Period Crew would look like WW-2 era as far as crew attire. In my Vast Library i Dont have a lot of Info on this, either in pics or publications.
GOOD LUCK; MIKE.

Love the pictures guys!
I think everyone has one of these in the unfinished pile of kits as it all starts out great, then the nightmare begins as parts don't fit, lots of filling in and sanding.
Then you look over at the track links and stop.
There are a few that have built it and I applaud them so.

Great pictures guys. It looks like the crew members are wearing the tankers helmet and the Infantry are wearing their field uniforms, anyone know what color those berets would be ? They seem to match the uniforms....some photos show the crew members wearing the black tankers overalls..very interesting. Some nice diorama potential there !

Here are some Prague Spring pics that may help with the uniforms color :
If you're talking about those worn by the soldiers on the ASU-57 #801, I guess they could be maroon, as IIRC this was the paratroopers beret color until 1969...But it's just a guess
