How I can obtain the exact mixture of the color FS20400 Tan
http://www.jpsmodell.de/shop/fs20400 code H-27 in painting Gunze and 2021 Model Master, leaving of the following paints Humbrol:
93 Matt Desert Yellow, 84 Matte Middle Stone, 26 Matte Khaki and 119 Matte Light Earth?

I have to tell to you to clarify even more my question that I have the four colors of Humbrol that I indicate here and I need, by means of the mixture with black or white depending on the color that I want to obtain their mixture proportions for each color for me to have the exact color the code FS20400 Tan.

The best thing for all.

Hi there

I'd beware using the term "exact" for anything to do with colour ... there are so many variables - not least the tolerances to which the manufacturers mix their paints!

However, IPMS Stockholm offer a Humbrol mix for FS*0400 (the first number simply denotes glossiness). They are an excellent colour reference.

Hope this helps

None of those Humbrol paints will give you 20400. You must use Humbrol # 63 w/ a Flat clearcoat. Hope this helps.

Thanks falks but I just want to know if there is a possibility, adding some of the colors of Humbrol that I indicated black or white, the exact percentages in measures if this one can make to obtain the FS20400 63 in Humbrol, H27 in Gunze and 2021 in Model Master.

I know that the FS20400 in Humbrol is the 63 but I want to know, for not I having this color, if I can obtain it of the colors 93,84,26 or 119 of Humbrol.

There is a possibility?, thank for you help.

Cheers

Hi again

I think the answer is "no"; going by the sample in the Humbrol brochure, neither Hu: 26,84,93 or 119 are anywhere close.

IPMS Stockholm suggest a mix of 3*Hu:63 + 3*Hu:118 + 3*Hu:34 + 2*Hu:121.

Out of the pot Hu:63 is too dark and saturated compared with my FS595B paint-chips. With respect to Rotorhead67, if you do use Hu:63, I think you'll need a semi-gloss coat, because the Humbrol paint is matt.

Hope this helps

Merlin,
I do apologize. I do not actually have the humbrol paints as I am not a Humbrol user.
I use the MM lines from Testors.
The actual 20400 is a semi gloss on the 1/1 vehicles, but in referance to this the semi turns to flat might quick w/ field use. And in scale this is negligable. I have the FS595 color chip fan w/ all the latest chips......would be lost without it. LOL You never know when custom mixes have to be attempted., and this item makes it easier.

Hi Rotorhead67

I quite agree - the FS color chips are indispensable! :-)

I don't take any paint manufacturers' claims of accuracy at face value - a quick comparision with the FS standards often shows how wide of the mark they can be

And you're right - paint won't stay satin-finish for long in service...

All the best

Rowan
