Hi!
Since I took contact to this site on a Missing Links DG I was hooked, it was love at first time, the ranking of posting stimulates us to keep on line participating on the forums and it's great cause we learn a lot of things here.
About Missing Links, I don't know about you guys, but I putted a couple of question on their DG's and didn't get a single answer, it's very strange!
So I do prefer to stay in company of you fellow modellers, that aren't so professionals like the others on ML and are open to chat and tell us those little secrets to enhance a model, that's what makes this hobby fun, to share it with others ...

I whole heartily agree with you Paulo! I've never had so much fun logging onto a site, asking questions, getting answers, and answering questions. A true gem of a site.
And last night's chatting was most enjoyable too.
It's great to come to a place where everyone is on the same playing field!

Ditto Paulo! I KNOW alot of those guys on ML and that's what makes this site so appealing. However, I don't know about bashing the "pros" - there are a lot of talented modelers out there who would like to participate in forums like this. Bashing a talented modeler is just as bad as a talented modeler ignoring a novice. I know from both sides of the issue...

I just know that since I started armor a couple months ago I looked and looked for a good site where I could find an active forum, recent updates, nice people, tips and just a great all around site. Since I found Armorama about 2 weeks ago I have now setup camp on this site with no plans to break it anytime soon.

In my opinion, Armorama has set a new standard by which the other modeling sites have to now look up to. Just the interface alone puts other sites to shame. Hats off!

I agree with you Gun. I think we could all learn so much from everyone out there. Be it novice or pro. I think what Paulo is saying, and this is just a guess, is the way, or the wording of this wonderful language, by which we all communicate, that gets taken the wrong way.
Maybe it's how it's taken out of context. Hmmm?
I think some give answers that are very blunt or direct. As opposed to taking a little more time to explain the answer to another's question. Just a thought.

I think you may have nailed it there. Sometimes I want to answer somebody with a short and too the point response. But I ussually try to be a bit more wordy because I know that's what I would want to see in reponse.

Yes, it is easy to be mis-read in electronic communication - reference the other forum question I placed this morning! I have to strike a balance between a direct answer and a wordy reply I suppose.

I too, post in several sites. There always appears to be someone out there who trys to "one up" you. Meaning no matter what answer is given, they have to throw in their 2¢ worth and show your answer to be just a little off the mark. We are all human and I know that my memory is faulty, just ask my wife. I always try to give people answers to questions that I'm able. I'm just fortunate that I have unlimited access to over a hundred pieces of modern (and some not so) US equipment and have almost 2 decades of experience on armored vehicles.

Sabot, I might be guilty of doing that once and a while. But I try not to make it seem like that, I try just to add alittle bit more info. That kinda hard here at Armoram becuase of the vast experience everybody has and a majorty of military personell. Like the other guys say, its hard not respond to something with a short didnt you know it was this way answer. so you try not to and here , you guys are great about that.

Paulo - don't be discouraged. Maybe they just don't have an answer. Just place mutiple posts on other forums.
Like Rob - I also post to other forums, and yes there are some who actually think they were on the W.W.II battlfields - AND THEY WEREN"T, - and there are some who do know alot - even to the point of actually correcting reference in books on all things W.W.II Military. Also like stated there are some who can't wait to tear into to you and better you. I must be honest, because I was guilty of the latter, and learned a valuble lesson from it. "In other words I got a history lesson spanking"
It goes to show that people aren't perfect, and you will meet all kinds.
