Anyone have a good tip for removing stubborn mold release agent? Both of my Real Model Stryker Mine Protection kits have something on there that resists everything I have tried. I scrubbed with soap and water, but it still was there. I used Clorox bleach and a toothbrush- still there. I soaked it overnight in Clorox THEN scrubbed it the next day and it still won't hold paint in places. Any other suggestions- figure I better ask before I use something that ruins the resin. I have never had this much trouble, even with other Real Model items.

I generally soak overnight in Blech White, but in the case of a Tank Workshop flatcar, nothing ever took the sheen and slippery feeling off the resin. You may have to sand slightly the areas where you want to glue the parts together.

I may pick up the Blechwhite and try that. Some of the area is around a whole mess of bolts, so sanding won't work there. Thanks for the tip

Use a dental pick or, lacking that, a sewing needle and gently scrape off the residue. Real Model uses a very resilient resin; it won't get damaged very easily. After scraping, scrub the area/part with some lacquer thinner to clean off the remainder. Works for me.
I used Vallejo acrylics which, IMHO, have really crappy adhesion to bare plastic, and sealed them with Model Master Clear Acrylic Flat and Gloss on the HET engine set. For some inexplicable reason, the Vallejo paints adhere like skin to the RM resin.

Maybe an abrasive cleaner like Comet? Make a paste and scrub the parts with a toothbrush.

How about a degreaser like Simple Green or Power Purple?
Some of the 3D printed stuff I have has funky carrier film on it and simple green took it off no problem.
Plus Simple Green works good as a paint stripper

I'll probably mix all these together and end up blowing up my house- and the mold release agent will be the only thing that survives

The Simple Green or Power Purple shuold do the trick. You can also try high concentration TSP. Mix it into a thick sludge, brush it on & let soak for a while before really rincing it off well. If these don't work, then you're probably pooched.
BTW, NEVER mix these various chemicals!!!! Some of them produce various combinations of deadly gasses when mixed.
Just don't do it!! Wouldn't be prudent!!

I know what you mean. This happens whenever I eat kimchi, hard boiled eggs and chili at the same time.

I can disinfect non-porous, kiln fired ceramic tiles, remove tarnish from silverware, kill 99.99% of meningococcal viruses and airborne bacteria and repel rabid raccoons with one application. Mold release agent, however, is another story.
