Thanks to those who have nominated me, but I honestly would prefer you voted for someone else. As I have only made one contribution to Rivet Review, I think it is fairer to nominate someone who has done more. I also don't want to split votes and I can think of half-a-dozen who have spent more time on the site and made a bigger contribution. Thanks anyway... Jim

You mean Envar hasn't been voted UOM yet?

I've got only one choice for my vote:
Envar

I thought the same thing. How could Envar not have been UOM?

Last I saw Uday had 5 nominations.

Those were removed.

If we cannot choose WHOEVER we wish, then this entire UOM becomes moot.
I for one will not participate in a "vote" that is controled.

Oh no!

Having just read Jimbrae's post about the tone of some threads, it's pretty disappointing to find that UOM - something that should be a celebration of what's so good about the Big-A being marred by bickering...

Anyway, end of sermon; a big thank you to those who've put my name forward :-) and for my nominations:

1. BrandydogUK

2. Phantom Major.

Both these guys are amazing for the amount of stuff they contibute to A-UK! :-) Long may they continue to keep me playing "catch-up" trying to post it all!

All the best

Selrach,
Those weren't nominations. They were SLAPS in the face to everyone who has won this award or been nominated. If you can't see that then I certainly will not attempt to enlighten you.

Nominate WWH as you did earlier and you will see no complaints from me. Nominate Uday again and you will be looking for another site to play games with. This may be a hobby, but it's not a game. I play enough mind games with my 3 year old that I don't need to come here and get more.

Firstly Jim, understand, that I know it is your board and you can do whatever you want with it. If you want to exclude folks from being UOM, that's up to you. I just feel that it is sorta wrong to exclude any user. And to instruct your users who not to nominate, you may as well instruct us who to nominate.
Which would be fine by me, if you picked the UOM, as this is your board.

But I choose not to participate in the "choice", if it is not a free choice.

Saying that, I do hope that WWH is "selected". IMHO he deserves it greatly, moreso than some of the past nominies.

Count me in with WWH and add ARTHUR to the list as well, not only does he bring a lot to the site with his figures and knowledge, he has helped me over the past month with two pieces of information regarding WWI equipment.

One person who stands out for me as being a true deserver of the UOM award is WeWillHold. Great guys, great posts and adds to everything.
A lot of people are worthy winners of this award and their time will come. I have probably asked more questions on here in the last six weeks than I have in my whole time here. Im very grateful to all you guys who have answered, and helped me along. Cheers
thanks very much also, for your nominations guys! Im very flattered.

A brief "public" heartfelt thank you to those who have nominated me for Armorama's UOM this month. I believe any of the nominees here will agree that the highest compliment any of us can receive is recognition from our peers. Many of the folks making nominations have posted show stopper work on this site ---- we're a good bunch of folks here - all 3,000 of us.
Sincerest thanks.

Even though I think Uday got more replies in the areas he has actually posted in, and should get some sort of recognition for stirring up conversation, not to mention some irate hairs as well, I also vote for steve .. aka We Will Hold. (I think steve is better looking, makes a whole lot more sense, and has been here longer.. not to mention he's nuttier than a fruitcake and has contributed a great deal to all of the forums and helped many of us out).

Hats off to steve !!!! #:-)
