Hi guys,
Just received my ABV from Def Models today from Lucky Model.
Had to pay $ 25,- taxes and handling-costs !!
This is the first time in many dealings with Lucky Model that the customs charges me.

hey Pascal, looking good but I fear that the ERA blocks sit too low now. it looks like they now sit flush with the lower edge of the turret sides...
there should be some space in either direction.. maybe you'll need to sand 'em down a little...
oh, and while I'm at it: you've glued the PE parts for the lights on top of the old light supports. these should actually be removed as can be seen in this picture:
also, since you haven't yet built the slides for the MICLIC pods, are you going to correct the inaccurate frame structure underneath the slides? here's a pic of what I mean:
you might also wanna sand down that small disc on the left upper hull. seems like you've glued the dragon part upside down, resulting in a slightly too pronounced look of that cover...
and lastly.. are you going to build it as an army or a marine corps version? I'm asking because the BFT set up differs between 'em...
Cheers, Max

Question for you chaps working on the DEF kit. On part 19 there is this molded in strip:
With it in place, the angle is off (exaggerated here in the photo because it's just leaning - I assume the plate should be perpendicular?) So should I sand it off or did you just leave it?
@ Max - what's the correct BFT arrangement for the Marines version?
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, the Marines use thelower mounting position, whereas Army ABV's have the BFT exposed over the rear plate of the turret.
EDIT: actually I'm not even shure if all USMC ABV's did have the BFT. I think I've seen a picture or video somewhere showing a crew member standing right where the BFT should be located...

@ Jim, yes you can sand this line.
@Max You are right for the ERA blocks. But I don't think to change mine as sanding only one row make more problems.
Thanks for BFT location informations.
As your pics are low res it is difficult to see something, and modifiy the kit. If you have mor hi-res detail pics can you share them ? TIA

Jim- I have doing some research for my build of this monster. I saw one picture with the BFT in the low position and another in the higher position. I also had trouble finding where the regular radio antenna was attached. It looks like the they mount it on the left rear of the hull (part #25).

Ok every one I asked a friend that served with an ABV unit. About what I thought I saw in the twin ABV photo.
As he told me there are not two extra IED antennas. It's an optical illusions on my eyes so it's really two more ABVs sitting signal file., but it would look cool 2 add more IED antennas but that would be redundant and unnecessary. So he said don't do it unless your doing a what if project.
Any way this is a really grate photo. Sorry to Hijack your thred a bit but, yes I'm building more ABVs an I'm working on making my own resin set so I can build them faster.
