Hello,
I am in the process of making a diorama which depicts a soviet convoy in Afghanistan. I have already built a DML BTR-70 kit and I am building an old AMT T-55 kit. Question is , what color did the T-55 wear .Is it is all green (Nato Green ) or any camo ? Can somebody point me to some good color pictures. Google rearch yeilds mostly catured or reused T-55 by the Mujahadeens.
Posting the In-Progress pictures of my BTR-70 .Any comments feedback welcome. Built OOB.

Thanks in advance
Vivek

I've not seen any English sources that confirm the 54/55 was used by the Soviets there, but that doesn't mean its not out there, just that I haven't seen it. Color photos from the war are few and far between by the way, you may have to settle for B&W.

Hi Vivek;
As Erik has said already, there arent a lot of color pics, of the Soviets in Afganistan. The T-62 was used by the Soviets the most, if your Dead Set on a T-55 then a Color used or seen on other vehicles would be correct.

I have an entire panel of a BRDM-2 from Afghanistan (along with a hell of a lot of other stuff) in its original green color. Some time back I posted a photo of it and my thoughts on the best match for the green. If you do a search here it will probably come up.
