Well, got my foxhole done. Here's a picture of it. I've uploaded a few more of the finished foxhole in my gallery. Check them out.

Nice hole, Ed, but I'm concerned about the surrounding area.
First and foremost -- where did the dirt that came out of the hole go? You have grass right up to the edge of the hole and that's just not realistic. The mounds of dirt against the wood reinforcements would also be newly-turned soil -- no time for grass to grow there either.
Other than my turned-soil issues, I think it's well conceived, but could use some execution help. Figure -- good; tree -- perhaps a bit too much like a sprig of juniper or cedar; boulder -- well, it might be sitting too high, but if you added some taller grass around it it might blend better. In short -- great start, now finish.
Please don't take this wrong -- I like it! It just needs some details ...

LTC Hallowpoint,
All comments taken for what they are. Views, comments, and opinions that others hold that can, may, or would help the model or in this case a dio look better. And you suggestions are not taken wrong.
For starters, its been many a year since I built any dio. This is the first true one I've built. BTW, the trees are young Cedar trees. True the grass is a bit to close to the berm to be 100% realistic.
Now as far as the question whta happened to the extra dirt dug go? Being a retired grunt, it would have been taken back behind the hole and disposed of. Just like the sod from the hole and possible some from the rear would have been used to help camou the hole.

Manchu34,
I wouldnt worry about the soil issue when I've dug 4 man fire trenches with
sleeping Qtrs in them we had to put all the soil on top of our poncho's and drag it into the treeline as fresh/soil is a give away yes it was hard graft evenharder trying to drag it all back
and fill the trench back in nice dio BTW
