Hi Guys,

This is my first post of model photos of any kind....been on and off the site for a few years?

A long time shelf queen a least to the point of needing tracks...Tamiya kit with Jadar Hobby Flamethrower conversion

Thanks for looking...

I wouldn't go with full sets of those tireless "internally dampened" wheels. They were very, very, vary rare on the Model '42.
For a tank from UTZ (Tamiya's hull) it would be much more common to have a rubber tired wheel front and back (four total).

Otherwise, a good looking model!

Hi Mark,

I agree with you however I had to cut the axles to fit the wheels (Armo resin), so I couldn't fit the combination wheels as you suggest.

So, a little late for the better appearance. In hindsight I should've just gone with the original Tamiya wheels....the resin copies aren't that great.

There are some photos showing early cast wheel sets with hex turret T-34s...

Thanks for the comment, Paul

Well, yeah, there are a tiny hand full of photos of Model '42s with these wheels (yours should actually be thought of as "late style" internally dampened wheels), still VERY rare. I think I have a total of three combat photos and images of several more on a UTZ assembly line.
Interestingly, all are fitted with either "soft edge" or "laminate" turrets, no "hard edge" types.
I've been trying to collect images of those exceptional beasts for a few years now.

Looking forward to seeing this with a bit of paint!
