I just saw Diopark's latest release of British folding military bicycles of the type seen being carried ashore on D-Day by disembarking British troops. That seemed to be a clumsey burden as well as a hazard. Whatever happened to the bikes? Were they simply ditched once the troops were on the beach? Must have been a lot of French bicycle shops selling slightly used bikes post-war.

Most probably sold on after the war, although there could be a big shed full of them somewhere
Army issue bikes were still around in the 70s but I never saw any of the folding type.
