Nice set!
Which online store carries the full line of Black Dog items? All the stores know of only have some of the sets.. and I sometimes wait for several weeks, or more, for them to restock the out-of-stock items.

Hisham. UMM-USA carries a good selection of Black Dog Products, but it takes him time to get the latest products. And... the owner, John Vojtech is a GREAT guy. His URL is: http://www.umm-usa.com/
Also, I believe BD also sells their own sets from their website as well.

Finally a Snatch. This will definitely be on my want list.
I'm kind of surprised that Derek at Accurate Armour didn't do one of these conversions though as I know he had originally had a full Snatch kit planned before Hobby Boss released their plastic series.

If Accurate Armour decides to produce a Snatch they are unlikely to make the mistakes that Blackdog have made. The Snatch is based upon on the earlier Defender and not the later TUM. This kit also appears to be the pre-Vixen upgrade, so a nearly bt not quite. Early Snatch had petrol V8s and the later ones had the diesel.
If you want accuracy then you will have to do your research.

Which base kit is needed? Could an RSOV kit be used and then the proper Defender tyres would be available? Did Accurate Armour decide not to continue with their Snatch kit? I was really looking forward to it. I assume this is an early Snatch vehicle conversion since it has the Northern Ireland phone stencil?

Are there differences between the models for Ireland and Afghanistan? Between cover of course.

There are quite a few differences. I'm not as up on the various Snatch versions as I should be, but Afghan versions had air conditioning added for starters, tyres different, No. Ireland versions didn't have wading snorkels, and all sorts of items were added externally. Not sure about wire cutters, looks like some had them, others did not. As someone stated earlier, your going to have to do your homework to model an accurate vehicle. As usual, each vehicle seemed to have something different from the next, especially once they got to Afghanistan. Best thing is to find a picture and work from it. Personally, I like the looks of the early vehicles as used in No. Ireland and want to model one of these. This actually looks like a late model version, despite the No. Ireland "confidential phone" stencil provided. Is this one of those a little bit of all versions but not not 100% accurate for any one specific version?

The wire cutters were a fairly common fixture on Snatches here, even on older models of Landy that were present here. I'm not entirely sure about the wading snorkel being used much here though as opposed to in Iraq, although for practicalities sake they probably had a few fitted with them. I would say the wheels and hubs are probably the most obviously inaccurate bit of this kit- but I'm still planning to add one to the stash!
