In the Korean war the US used the M-18 Hellcat, minus turret and with an open top, as an APC, cargo carrier, and general utility vehicle. I'm looking for pictures showing the top of the vehicle. I have the Hunnicutt "Bradley" book with a few pics, and the Chrimson(sp) book.
I've found a few pics on the web, but few show the top of the vihicle or interior well enough to start carving up my Academy M-18. The vehicle was designated M-39 / T-41.
I thought I'd ask here. Maybe one of you guys has one sitting in the back yard you could shoot some pics of. #:-) or have found a scource I've missed.
Thanks
Chuck

If I have the intent straight, is the M39 the APC that was the forerunner of the M75? I remember the M39 appearing to be a full-size APC, that is, not just a turret-delete of the M18 Hellcat. I seem to remember the old Armour in Profile that addressed the development of the M113, seemed to have references to the M39.

Thanks for all the pics guys. Rotorhead67 is sending me some he has also. Combined with the excellent set Shiryon has posted I should be able to start this project when I've finished the M113 I'm doing now. Looks like the hardest part will be scratchbuilding a new top for the hull. Jim: the turret was removed and the fighting compartment opened up, however, there was not top. Also the M39 armor could be pierced by rifle fire at close range.
Acording to the Hunnicutt "Bradley" book, the M39 is the forerunner of the M75 as you stated.

Once again the Armorama crew comes thru. :-)
Thanks everybody.

cfBush,
WOW !! see what I mean. Everyone willing to lend a helping hand.
Bush,,
Although my photos are 1/1,10x better quality, I still feel bad about our origonal, conversation. Maybe its just me ,but I think holding a sharp picture that was taken in modern times is just a better format. What now?? Excellent info and links tho. thanks guys for offering more.

Just want to add that George Bradford has a 1:35 4-view scale drawing of the M39 :

Maybe useful to complete Shiryon's great reference pics
