Hi Hi,

I decided on not doing my headless Daimler Armoured Car Mk2 afterall. Why? Well because i don't want to backdate my Mk2 into the required Mk1.

So, i wanted to do a Pzr3 M, but the on i have is a wreck and won't be any good salvaging. Then i looked at my Airfix Sherman, but i don't know if it's a correct version for MG. Thus i'm almost looking at 1/35 scale models now...

Any ideas?

Wow, I have a lot of ideas - what would you like to base your diorama around - AFV, Jeep, figures, building?

- In the book ABTF there were AA towers at bridge heads, there were lots of references to MG nests, slit trenches, armor trapped on an elevated road.
- In the movie there were some nice Frost images at the bridge, lots of river crossings in the canvas/plywood boats
- In both there were German references to armor patrolling the city at all point of MG.
- Houses were used as hospitals
- civilians were part of the resistance.

lots to think about - what kits that you have are close to MG?

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the load of ideas :-) As far as models, i can only choose from the several Sturmgeschutz 3 kits i have (all 1/35) but i'm already in the proces of building a stug and yet another one alongside wouldn't be much fun. So i dropped the 1/35 armor idea and i found i have two 20mm FlaK kits and a M29 Weasel. I also have the Dragon Red Devils but i don't like working with figures. I have untill march.....i must find something!

In the book, ABTF there was a nice excerpt about an AA gun on a platform protecting the bridge. The gun was having trouble 'checking' Allied troops because it was ellevated on the platform and could not lower its guns to cover the banks.

The idea could be a bridge head with wooden platform with you Flak gun on it. Turn the guns upstream down part of the river in an effort to cover the crossing. You could get some bridge building, platform building, water, trees, etc.

and if you want to reduce the figure content. I"ll check to book again, but I think there was reference to the position being destroyed by Allied troops. So you could 'blow it up' and make a burned out AA position. If you're interested I"ll look....

Scott,

Thanks for all the info/input! Really appreciate it. I think i'll go ahead with a Flak as the centerpiece.

thanks!
