Hello guys, I start this new adventure with modeling the new kit Dragon 6630 converting it StuH Late 42.
Since I always prefer to complicate my life, I decided to change the position of the suspension and the position of the bars to simulate a sudden braking of the tank.
I removed the plastic from the front and I added in the rear.

Nice. Are you going to make this small diorama, it would greatly enhance the effect if there is somekind of story behind such sudden action?

Great idea. You should have the commander in the hatch bracing himself against the coupla so he doesn't smash his face. I've been in M1's when that happened and it's a very real fear.

Good luck.

Now I have yet to decide but I think I will not make any diorama and no .... appear to be sincere modeller figurines can not get them as I want ... We'll see! The idea came from seeing a movie on youtube of a StuG G refurbished and running, brake suddenly .... the whole front has fallen!

Fabrizio, just a little FYI.... If the red in the last picture is supposed to represent primer, the barrel is not correct. Cannon barrels were supplied from the factory in a black lacquered finish because the normal red primer would not hold up to the heat.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Bob: the color of barrel is red brown and this is the page that inspired the camo that I used on my model:

Image inserted only for discussion

I know that the color of the barrels is the panzer gray camouflage but I have seen many who had the barrel painted red brown so there might be.

The weathering is looking really good there.

As for the barrel thing, first and foremost, it's your model so do it as you please (I always do mine with the same thoughts). For the most part, anything goes in war and it's entirely possible someone reprimed the barrel in red for some unknown reason. Be aware though of when your source book was printed. A lot of the older books are now filled with information that since has been proven wrong.

First-class work on the weathering, and a very convincing job with the suspension.
