Anyone tried these pigments?

What are they like - better value to MIG but how do they compare.
Can anyone suggest a starter set for someone that wants to present serviceable, moderately dirty vehicles in western europe and western desert.
Have alredy decided on Exhast Black and Raw Steel.
Was looking for an additional 8 or less to get me started.
Thinking of light dust-sand-mud-rust effects, nothing too extreme yet.
I'm just a bit overwhelmed by the range.
Before anyone suggests I have considered pastels but these leave me more overwhelmed because I don't have an eye for which colours to use and how to mix them.
Cheers,
Nigel
