Is there any known good photos of KV-2 transmission and engine and a top down view of the driver compartment ?

No photos come to mind , but IRC it was the same engine and tranny as the T 34. Some blue print line drawings of a KV 1 hull in Wydawnnictwo Militaria " Tank Power # 320 ( KW vol. III ). Only thing different should be the ammo storage , and there is a sideview drawing of a KV 2 to help figure that out.

T-34 had engine V-2-34, while KV-2 had engine V-2K. transmission was the same in beginning of the war, but in 1942 (when KV-2 was not produced any more) T-34 got new 5-speed transmission.
Otherwise yes, KV-2 interior will be almost the same as KV-1 of the same period except the central part. Even the manual was the same for both tanks.
