Just out of curiosity(I promise I won't start it until I clear my bench), what is the best short barreled Stug in 1:35? I know CH just released the III B, but with no upgrades. I've read the reviews on the Dragon/CH III B, III E, and III F. Also on Tamiya's III B. They all seem to be about the same.

Matt, I did the Tamyia Stug B last year, I truly recommend it.
Also did a Dragon Stug F version I think..not short barreled.
But the Tamyia kit was great. Everything was great about it, fitting, detailing, decals, it had a metal gun & small PE fret.

I have the Dragon E in the stash - it sure looks nice. Hope to start to build it later in the year

It does look quite nice. Decisions decisions. I'll probably end up getting both. Relegate one to a shelf queen and finish the other.

I think it has diorama potential.. thinking the old heavily loaded with gear and troops - or perhaps winter troops walking alongside (think Dragon has a set of winter figures battling the weather)....
but that relies on me learning to paint figures, which is my next adventure.....

I have the Dragon Stug lllE, and while I would usually recommend Dragon over Tamiya any day, in this case I think I would have to go with Tamiya. The DML kit is quite old (maybe as old as Imperial Series) and has older, soft details and missing weld seams. Tamiya is probably marginally better, but both will benefit with PE and AM upgrades. It's about time Dragon made new-tooled early Stug's

Since Dragon has re-released the III ausf. B, under CH I think we can expect a new one for Christmas. This should line up with me actually finishing my panzer collection.
