Hello,

My name is Richard Dewulf, I live in The Netherlands and I'm new on this forum.

The last couple of days I've been working on my 88mm flak gun from Dragon. It's in the weathering stage right now.

Some pics:

Hi Richard
Welcome to Armorama Your build looks real fine, and the colors are interesting. I think it's gonna look great when wheathered. Looking forward to see more.
Best regards
Jacob

Thanks for the compliments, I was having some doubts about the cammo. But I think it looks a lot better after the weathering.

Welcome to Armorama, Richard!
I would keep the camo. It is very appealing. I have decided to do one or two accurate kits a year and paint the rest in outlandish schemes. I'm an artist, not an engineer. This is strange, as I studied engineering in college. But, that's another story. I really look forward to seeing more of the weathering and how it turns out.

I like to build accurate and complete models, but when things go wrong. for example the model falls down and breaks in pieces I try to make it look like a destroyed model. I think a lot of modelers work this way. Since I'm studying mechanical engineering a lot more models are finished and completed.

I went for electrical engineering. But, my philosophy professor persuaded me to go for poli-sci. I was something of a prodigy.
Back to the build. I believe the camo is feasible. White wash was more popular, but it could have easily been a crew in short supply. I noticed that you commented on the flak 88 camo question. If you are wanting a summer scheme, go with desert yellow and olivgrun. Or, for Africa, dunkelgelb.

You're right this sceme won't be applied by a crew with a lot of time or a lot of material. I wanted to make it look like they did it in a hurry (think it worked). That other post is indeed a diffirent sceme. Mine will be situated on the easternfront.

Latest update after weathering. I've got to repair a few spots were paint was lost, but...

The weathering is not easy to see on these pics.
