hello, I'm posting here to share my WIP diorama, of Syria anno 2012
used Zveasda T72 A (I already did a post in Russian forum of it )
Trumpeter tracks were the only AM hurt in making this dio
rest is scratchbuild from Architect foam, plasterfiller, alufoil, wires and plastic card
it's almost done but reading the postive comments on the T72,I decided to post here some pictures
Airco unit
Mr piglet
Tabouret
Rack
"some" guys picture...
some other guys slipper
Rebelguy(old ICM fig made a beard)
so far we got with the accessories
now for the dio
stay quiet and all be fine!
and finally the rear
hope you like it
suggestions of other accesories I could throw in are welcome thinkin' of a old matrass, a stereo and some more furniture..?

The only part I don't like is, the ICM figure. He looks just like a 1:35 scale figure. Everything else is over the top! OK. I have to start working on some dio ideas I have. Two things about the scene. The second being, where did the shelves come from? I looks to be judiciously tossed into the scene. A little more rubble near it would make it more feasible. Can't say "I can do better." Just comments from the peanut gallery, here.

very nice work but instead of an AK maybe an RPG would work better
cause now you have a david and goliath situation

Agree with Frank, the RPG would add some drama to the diorama as it would be like the rebel is laying in wait for a rear end shot. Cheers.

Hi;
I like the whole thing !!!
O.K. maybe a Lil bit more Rubble, and i think there is room for another figure.
Pit; remember the Video ? How about the Guy with the RG-29 !
Outstanding work My Friend; MIKE.

Love the setup. I agree on the RPG idea. How about adding a guy with a video camera on the second floor? The rebels seem to love filming their tank kills and putting them on YouTube.

thanks everyone for the comments, and views
the figs sound very tempting, but I must say the Masterbox guys are all facing the wrong way for the scene ;( and I don't have a clue what other figs I could use,I think I'll remove the fig, and make it a "hastly retreat" ,Syrian rebels tend to do that once the SAA kicks into action, anyway,I'll add some wasted ammo, maybe a gun or so laying around (it's probably the last thing they'll leave layin' around, but facing a T72 at full speed,I'd run too )
Rpg, ok, but I haven't got any around, and AM "10 euro for a RPG" isn't in my budget either, all sounds good but how to execute? difficult
the rack layin infront of the tank is made of alufoil, thought that would impress,...seeing all that metal rack stuff layin' around on those YT clips..
thinkin' of a sat dish on the roof, some more debris, mmmm, meanwhile it can settle a little

Looks pretty good. The ruined metal shelf was my favorite element!
May I make a suggestion? You might consider marking a front fender with the regime's flag, just to add a bit of color. The Syrian Arab Army has started doing this, to distinguish their tanks from those of the rebels. An image search will give you examples.
Wouldn't it be great if one of the aftermarket decal companies decided to print a sheet dedicated to the Syrian civil war: an assortment of markings for rebel and regime loyalist vehicles, and maybe some wall graffiti as well.
Great looking diorama, though. Good luck on this interesting project.

thanks man, and a great imput ,I will try if I can still get it on without screwing up the paintjob
been thinking of a flag or something, but that sounds good, I'll look into it
if you need decals of a certain vehicle, I guess an e-mail towards UNICORN MODELS could be a solution, I know the owner, and he's already made me some Lybian flag, maybe he'll be intrested in doing some Syrian ones, check it out

My friend, a very nice scene you have created, and I´m glad to see your work here.
I agree with the comments about the PRG and maybe another rebel watching their backs. However, this is your scene, so you know better than anybody else how you pictured it originally.
Anyway,a great job!

Pretty Darned good modern dio ! One thing, I don't think too many Muslims would have a Pink Pig on their tank. But there are Christians in Syria too. So.......
