Hi,
SAS Land Rover Pink Panther. Italeri or Tamiya? Pros & Cons of both kits.
I'm building the Tamiya version at the moment & appeciate this is a very old kit with quite a lot of issues.
I have used the Eduard PE set & changed the wheels for the resin ones but there are still a number of problems that need to be changed.
Dont get me wrong, I have loved every minute of putting it right to the best of my ability.
It's just that I wanted to know what the Italeri offer builds like.
Any thoughts on the subject?
Thanks.

Joe.

Pretty sure the CG ammo containers are included.

Cheers,

I have built both and still have several Italeri kits in the stash pile. Overall, I personally liked the Italeri version better, mainly because it has the correct tie rods, steering dampers, etc. underneath, the Tamiya kit is a bit simplified in this area (as is the Tamiya Land Rover Ambulance). The tyres could do with replacement. It is also more compatible with the basic Srs III Land Rover by Italeri (basically same kit in many respects) to make conversions to Srs II vehicles. The Tamiya kit did have better fit and was a bit easier to build; overall both are pretty easy to build and do make decent replicas, if somewhat basic by today's standards. Don't think one can go wrong with either.
