Hello all, I am starting a project in which I am kit-bashing the (braille) Hase and Airfix Crusader II. I am making this an Australian Crusader from the desert and I need to know what tan color can be used(I use acrylic) and if there was anything special the Aussies did to their Crusaders (field mods, markings, stowage, etc.) I have a few nice pictures from Bradford's old book Armor Camouflage & Makings North Africa. I was wondering if anyone knows of more pictures of this unit and it's tanks?
TIA,
Ben

The colour is almost certainly BS 61 Light Stone.

For Tamiya paints the mix is: 7 pts XF2 + 2 pts XF59 + 2 pts XF3.

It makes a pale yellow colour.

The vehicle in the Bradford book appears to have lighter colour (white?) horizontal stripes on the very ends of the front fenders. Not sure how widespread that marking may be.

Thanks for the color. Good eye on the white stripes!
