Hi everyone!
This is my another (almost) finished german AFV. The kit is Dragon 6465 upgraded with Voyager PE and Friul metal tracks. The figure is from kit Tamiya 35201 "German Tank Crew at Rest".
The base is not yet 100% I want to correct the trackprints on the ground.
Here is a little summary of building. I'll hope you like it.
Regards!
Antal

Love your work of the overall dusty look! Just a little suggestion: you may have the tracks sinking deeper into the base to create so-heavy-looking effect due to the weight of the beast.
Overall, you have to proud for the details you made and congratulations, Antal!
Cheers

Thanks very much to everyone.
Garry, you're right in relation of the ground. This will be the subject of correction.

Very nice job Antal. Other than Ricky's comment about the groundwork, the only other thing that leaps out at me is the chain on the pistol port plug. The one you used seems to be a bit out of scale. I would not expect such a heavy linked chain to be used on such a small item as that plug.

Thanks for comments.
Bob, I'd thought of that but unfortunately this was my smallest link chain when I built the Elefant. Now there's only one solution, if will not open the pistol port.

Actually, if you want to change the chains, I've got a couple possible solutions that should allow you to do so with little, or no, problems. If you're interested, let me know and I'll write them out for you.

Very thanks but first of all a question. Approx. what is the right size? Only this I have found at home.

If it is good I care about the solution.

Hi Antal, here's a couple links for pics of the chain. The first is an interior shot. The second has some great exterior pics with the plugs hanging. They should give you an idea of the actual size (it looks at least half the size of what you're using, if not smaller).

I don't know your situation in Hungary, but I find inexpensive, tiny chain by going to craft stores and places that sell cheap necklaces.
If you want to PM me your address I have some chain that looks to be about 1mm. I'll be more than happy to send you a section of it. If it works, great. If it's still too big, you won't have lost anything but the time it takes to mail it to you.

Hi Bob!
Thanks, very good info!
And what a good idea, thin necklace! I never even thought of this - shame! I can take such a thing but so far I've been looking for chain only in modelshop.
And a chain comparison. The smallest is the PE from Voyager set. Based on the images maybe it is the good but I don't really like this "flattened" chain.
And the long brass chain is the 1,5mm link sized (it's from ebay). If it is good I don't have buy another.
What do you think?

Hi Antal, I think the PE chain is probably about the right size. Like you though, I'm not happy with the look of the flattened links, especially in the prominent places where these would go.
I took a picture of the chain I have against the side of an Italeri Elefant and it doesn't seem to be much different than the Ebay chain you have (other than having more oval links.
If what you got from Ebay is 1.5mm, I think something half that size would probably be appropriate. It's only holding the plug, and they wouldn't want something that would hinder the movements of a gun barrel too much when they had to use it.
