Great review guys, The sprue parts are for the 75mm. These sprues are a carry over from their pre built version which was the 75. A lot of people are happy that they did that because they wanted the 75mm version over the 105 support tank.

The squadron Sherman walk around book is also a nice choice.

Yes, great video Ernie & Jim, very informative and nice to actually see the size of that kit! The first words out of my mouth were holy $%&*# that thing is huge, you guys looked like Hobbits next to it.

As Ernie said, this looks good out of the box and a great base platform to get into some real detailing too. Keep us posted on the build progress Ernie.

Incredible kit and one can only wonder how much the molds cost to cut! That said, this would perhaps have made far more sense to have been made in 1/16 and thus maximise potential sales? Gary

As I noted, the back of the roadwheels is open.So I will have to make a cast of one road wheel, and make resin faces.Also,the engine deck, and other locations, have ribs for handles.And I need to scratchbuild tow cable ends, and guides,and attachment points.

Yes we did realize our mistake on calling it the 76mm gear after the fact. I meant to notate that in the video so I will do that now for those watching it from this point forward.

The point about a 1/16 kit was good, too. I'd buy one, if it was priced in line with Trump's big-scale stuff, and it would be my first 1/16 scale kit.

You know what Ernie REALLY wants to do is turn that thing into a water feature in the backyard, or maybe just a bathtub, it's about big enough!

I'm going to have mine sitting on the front lawn. Put some weight inside of her so she doesn't run away.

I love 1/16 but that is just crazy big, couldn't get it through my doorway.

Thanks, Carl, good heads-up. Just checked my kit and found 170 ZA and 166 ZB parts plus 6 bad shots and an extra ZA. It looks like you need 165 links total (81 per side + 3 spares) so, overall, there's just enough good ones to make do.
Hope you weren't short.

I have 82 for each side plus the short shots I will cast a mold from a good, to make the spares in the rear from.

It really is that big. I wonder if my wife would object to that in the house, or if I'd have to keep it in the garage with the cars?

Been thinking about the tow cable too. I'm sure they vary in length some but I recall seeing a figure of 20' x 1.125" diameter somewhere. That's 3'-4" x 3/16" at this scale. I'm gonna look at HD this weekend and see if I can find something suitable. Got a couple ideas for cast texturing the turret and finishing the tracks as well. If they pan out I'll share em.

Oh, this will need a scratch built socket for the 50 pintle on the TC's cupola ring. Also, there are no lifting rings for the back positions on the turret.But I did have a small bag stuffed in the main box, with 3 extra siren brush guards.
I have finished casting the roadwheel backs, and am cobbling together some sub assemblies, before I try painting.

Hey, Carl, I just tried simulating the rubber track pads using Rustoleum LeakSeal in black. Looks really good at this scale and feels like rubber too. It takes paint well so you can weather it up a bit if you want. Just a thought.

I'm going to try some Rustoleum multicolor textured spray paint on some scrap to see if it resembles a cast finish at this scale after you put an OD coat on top of it. I would hate to have to buy a gallon of Mr Surfacer.
