hi guys so i posted a build log about an ambulance (humvee) i was starting a while back and havent really followed up since but now its back on track and i have a few questions. i was originally going to do an oif maxi but now with all the hooplah going on in korea ive decided to base it on one of those vehicles. i already have the eduard set and im ordering the def model radials and thanks to sgtsauer i have the modern bumper, mirrors, and cip. my question is ive seen pics of these vehicles in korea with what looks like a tan bft on the top slant and some extra antennas. im planning on investing on the voyager bft set but does it come with the outer box for the antenna? and also if not does anyone possibly have a donor one they can send me? i'd be willing to compensate for it. also are they using any sort of duke or rhino in korea? a lots been changing over there and ive been having trouble finding information so any help would be great and oh ive also started a photo bucket account (finally) so this blog WILL have pics and very soon. thank you guys and happy modelling

If you can email me the picture your looking at, I can tell you what items are on the ambulance. It would probably be an even better idea to post the picture in this thread so more than one of us can provide feedback. There are many people here that know more than me.

Overall, the Army has not widely distributed Counter IED systems outside of the combat zones. You do sporadically see them around other areas as well as some CONUS bases.

I can possibly help you with BFT parts and other items too if needed.

I think this is the photo you were referring to correct?

The Blue Force Tracker antennae on it is a newer generation transceiver which is part of the BFT-2 system.

I have a BFT Transceiver and mount from the Academy M1151 I can send to you at no charge if you are interested.

If I actually see some US vehicles I might get some photos. All I've seen were LMTV's .The rest were RoK vehicles. (RoK base)

Hey Calvin. I'm getting your PM's. My military job just keeps me very busy and sometimes it takes a day or two for me to respond.

Here are a couple of photos of BFT-1 on an M997 Ambulance that I took at my unit today. Note the two different antennae locations on the patient shelter.

Here is a photo of the 1st generation BFT transceiver that is on the ambulances in my unit. The small green oval device is the GPS antennae for the AN/PSN-13 DAGR that provides navigation data to the system.

I took several more M997 Ambulance BFT photos today and posted them at this link.
