Can anybody point me in the direction of any plain arabic style civilians for use as Libyan rebels?

Most of the figures I have seen are either protestors or insurgents and they are not really what I am looking for. Other than that anybody know of any head sets? or what I could use if a non-specific one is available? Hornet heads? use the standard ones or their african head sets, which of their sets would be suitable?

In 1/35th

If you manage to find any "modern style" plain clothed civilians of any kind, please let me know

I'm beginning to believe that the only solution is to try to convert military figures - by scraping their uniforms down - and try to make their clothes look like regular civilian clothes.

Although the meng set looks ok. Just a shame that it only has one adult male!

There's these guys.. I don't know if you've seen them before

http://www.blackarmymodells.com/#/135-and-54-mm/4533594613

I do remember that Warriors used to have a set of Middle Eastern heads that have beards and stuff.. but it's hard to find. I remember seeing it at Greatmodels before they sold their inventory to Sprue Brothers.. so, maybe you can check with them.

Let me know if you find something useful

Hi Paul- I wonder if these Verlinden figs are something close to what you are looking for?

Masterbox also do a set of Iraqi Insurgents:

Mig Productions also do a similar set:

Hope this helps you out a bit.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Paul is looking for the type of figures I'm looking for - regular civilians in plain shirts and pants.. and not in any action poses.

Djiti's Productions from France makes this guy whom he calls "Generic Soldier"... which could easily be used as a civilian with some minor changes.

http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/gw0csthyo9dj3xzdtlyx.html

He also makes this sitting guy.. but he's out of stock now. Of course you can buy these directly from Djiti's

http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/9bosaaffwwdugjovsfer.html

And...

http://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/njrrpb0o6ojlowmorsvk.html

Well, those are some of the closest figures I could find to just regular people on the street. And as for heads, believe me.. Arabs are not all ugly scary guys with beards

Hope these help you out

My bad Hisham, its just Paul mentioned 'rebels' so I thought maybe he wanted some 'in action' figs!

There aren't too many civilian Arab figures out there unfortunately- at least ones that don't have beards etc. Meng released a set that might be useful though.

No "bad" at all

Meng's set is really good, but like Paul said, it only has one adult male figure. I hope they do more similar sets in the future.. and not necessarily Arabs.. just basic "generic" civilians in regular shirts and pants which can be used in different settings.. I think that would sell more than Arab civilians in robes and big beards and stuff.. the more "generic" the set is, the better in my opinion.

I'll keep hoping

There's also these Black Army figures.. scroll down to the bottom. They have a couple of figures intended as insurgents, but can be used as civilians with some minor modifications.. and they just added this new figure writing graffiti on a wall.

About 18 months ago I assembled this motley crew from all sorts of places. Since then there have been several very useful releases . Scroll half way down the linked page.
